EffectiveSoft welcomes its new Technology Director

In this interview, Vlad reflects on his career milestones, shares his vision for the company’s technical direction, and offers insights into how he plans to lead the team toward greater success.

Tell us about your career path: What key projects or achievements do you consider the most important?

My education is in IT, and I began my career as a Software Engineer in the banking sector. Programming has always been my passion, but at some point I realized I was ready to try something new. I wanted to do something different but I didn’t want to lose my previous experience. Moving into management felt like a natural next step. It allowed me to stay connected to the industry and community I love while exploring a different scope of work.

When it comes to career achievements, I wouldn’t focus on fancy projects (though I’ve had a few) or using top-notch technologies.

How do you see your role as a Technology Director at EffectiveSoft? What tasks do you consider a priority?

I see my role as the connection point between the business and technology sides of the company. My main responsibility is making sure our technology strategy is aligned with the company’s goals. As a new team member, my first goal is to understand the current state and identify technical bottlenecks or gaps in the delivery process.

Which areas in IT do you see as the most promising for the company’s development?

Modern technologies that deliver real value to our clients—something that distinguishes them in their market and gives them a competitive advantage. To put it simply, something that helps them earn money. I’m talking about AI and machine learning, of course. At the same time, it’s not only about IT areas. I think having deep expertise in business domains can also distinguish us in our IT market.

What strategy do you believe is the most effective for developing the technical team?

I don’t think there’s a single “right” answer to this question. I’d start by making sure team development aligns with the company’s business goals. That means helping teams grow by giving them more autonomy and recognizing their achievements. It’s also about creating an environment where learning never stops, encouraging certifications, and making knowledge sharing a regular thing.

What are the main goals you set for yourself in the coming year at EffectiveSoft?

My focus is on understanding the current setup, improving delivery processes, and creating an environment where every team member can grow and deliver their best work.

What brings you the most satisfaction in your work?

Making a difference! What drives me is knowing that my contributions lead to positive outcomes, whether for the team, the company, or the clients we serve. That is what keeps me going.

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of your professional life?

I enjoy spending time outdoors in the fresh air, especially during the summer when I can dive into water sports. I love swimming, diving, and sailing—that’s my way of staying active. Even a quick walk with my dog helps me recharge. When I’m stuck indoors, I like to read and explore new topics. My latest hobby, which you might find a bit unexpected, is studying economics.

I truly believe that teamwork and open communication are the foundations for success. Joining this team is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m really excited for what the future holds.
