    Client and challenge

    Our client is a multi-asset FSA-regulated broker whose mission is to deliver financial opportunities to the world in progressive and emerging markets.

    They deliver several fintech software products including a mobile trading application available for iOS and Android. The solution offers extensive functionality such as streaming of the latest market data, account management, fund transfers, stock trading, and more.

    The app was developed by in-house engineers. However, due to the lack of a QA team, the testing was performed improperly, and the app was experiencing issues.

    The client became concerned with poor test scope. This forced them to look for a company that could give comprehensive coverage across the entire app functionality. EffectiveSoft was asked to come on board to:

    • Establish a QA strategy,
    • Perform UI testing,
    • Perform manual functionality testing,
    • Test integration with a streaming platform,
    • Report and track detected bugs.

    Solution

    In order to ensure an efficient and thorough testing process, our team selected a black box approach for functional testing. 

    We began with detailed analysis of the product, leading to the development of a comprehensive test plan, covering all the client’s functional requirements for the app. From there, our QA team created test suites which covered all key types of testing, including iOS and Android mobile app testing, UI testing, and integration testing with the streaming platform.

    Throughout the testing process, our team used Agile methodology in order to organize the testing process, communicate issues with the client, and track the progress of bug-finding.

    Our QA team worked tirelessly in identifying and reporting all issues and bugs found in the application, prioritizing and categorizing them based on their severity, and producing detailed reports outlining recommended fixes.

    Our diligent approach to testing ensured that over 200 bugs were detected, including the critical and high-priority ones. These faults were resolved completely, with all issues fixed before the application went live, helping prevent further technical failures and instilling confidence in the client’s customers.
