We leverage VR and wearable technology to provide DVR patients with accessible care.
Our client is a software development company focused on digital healthcare and technology-powered medical diagnosing and treatment. One of the challenges they face is a lack of solutions for preventing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition that can be fatal if not detected and treated promptly.
The client’s goal was to develop an accessible and effective VR solution integrated with wearable technology, aiming to reduce DVT risks, facilitate treatment, and enable real-time patient monitoring.

VR solution
Unreal Engine
Working closely with our client, we leveraged the power of Unreal Engine to create a VR game that had to make a difference. The game triggers involuntary muscle contractions via an electrical nerve stimulation. The game mechanics stimulate calf muscles to a certain rhythm, treating the pain and tingling associated with DVT. We also integrated biometric sensors into a wearable e-wrap that uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to activate the lower leg muscles, while providing comprehensive patient monitoring.
The game we collaborated on offered an innovative approach to reducing DVT risks and facilitating treatment through natural muscle activation mechanisms. It also boosted patient engagement in preventative care. The VR solution, in combination with wearable technology provides high-risk patients with a promising solution for both home care and hospital treatment.
