    Client and challenge

    Our client is a Saudi Arabian company providing asset evaluation services across various industries, with a specific focus on real estate. They were looking to strengthen their industry presence with a dedicated platform that could provide critical insights, enabling the client to maintain a competitive edge in the market. The solution needed to aggregate extensive data on bids, starting and final sale prices, and auction frequencies, thereby helping identify market trends, understand buyer preferences and behavior, map high-demand regions, and forecast future property prices.
    To realize their idea, they approached EffectiveSoft.

    Solution

    After thoroughly analyzing the client’s requirements, we designed and developed a web auction platform specifically tailored for the Saudi region, integrating Alibaba Cloud for optimal performance and compliance with local regulations. To cater to the primary Saudi user base while ensuring accessibility for international users, our engineers incorporated a multilingual plug-in to support both Arabic and English versions.

    The functionality of the app depends on the user role:

    • Regular Bidder. Bidders can view auction details; participate in auctions; place bids; manage their wallet; receive SMS, email, and in-app notifications; and edit their profiles.
    • Agency. Real estate agencies who are approved for registration on the platform can create lots and access detailed statistics for each auction.
    • Administrator. Administrators have access to all administrative features, including managing and editing pages, adding and deleting users, and configuring site settings.

    Users can switch between roles seamlessly; for example, a regular bidder can also act as a company manager if invited by their agency.

    Integrations

    We also integrated the following third-party services to extend the app’s functionality while complying with regulations.

    • Google Maps to display the exact location of items and auctions. When creating an auction, users can pin locations on the map to ensure ease of access for bidders.
    • GoPay to manage financial transactions. This includes wallet deposits and withdrawals.
    • Nafath (Saudi ID) to authenticate users. Users must enter their unique Saudi ID number and receive a verification code via a government mobile app.

    Maintenance and support

    Having accomplished the task and delivered the solution, we were asked to provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure the reliability of the auction platform.

    To do this, we address any issues that may arise with minimal downtime and uninterrupted service. This includes handling customer requests, basic issues, and complicated technical problems.
